The Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission (DG MARE) and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO) in partnership with the Government of Spain and the Port of Barcelona will host the 5th International MSPforum on Monday 21 November, 2022 in Barcelona, Spain.

The format remains interactive as previous MSPforum editions (Brussels, La Reunion, Vigo and Riga), with thematic panels followed by round-table discussions. The aim is to bring together MSP practitioners, academics and policy makers from around the world to discuss, exchange knowledge and give concrete examples and recommendations on how to apply MSP. Closing the Circle Research Fellow Sarah Mahadeo has been invited as a Rapporteur for the theme of Transboundary Cooperation and will present the findings at the 3rd International Conference on Marine/Maritime Spatial Planning which will be held immediately following on the 22 and 23rd November, 2022.
